2-1/2 minute video of reconfiguring a pattern
The video, above, was created so that you can see how I worked out the simplification of a reverse-engineered pattern. Reverse-engineering is when you look at a finished object and then work to figure out how it was made. Knowing the cleanest and simplest layout of a pattern can be challenging. As seen here, I paid attention to where edges connected, and moved elements of the pattern only to areas where they would naturally connect.
You will also notice that I hit my thumb (twice in a row) with a hammer when I was building my art studio!
